Dewitt’s Farm
Monday, October 18, was a cool but sunny day when all of the elementary students went to Sean and Andrea Dewitts’ farm on Cemetery Road to learn a few different things about starting a homestead in the future.
Mrs. Dewitt and her youngest daughter brought out two of their goats “kids” (Baby goats) for the younger kids to feed and pet. She also taught them about composting and what’s good for composting and what’s not good for it.
The garden was another interesting attraction that the Dewitt’s have. Some of the kids were interested in the the garden and composting session while others were too fascinated by the animals to pay attention.
All of the children seemed very interested in the animals. Dewitts had turkeys, rabbits, pigs, and the “kids” for the children to see and “talk” to. The children loved to get a reaction from the animals. The children were also able to feed the baby goats and the pigs.
